Virginia's Story
Since graduating from Waltrip in 1973, I got married had 2 children and then divorced after 28 years. I never saw myself bekng a divorced woman. But God had other things in mind for me. By no means am I perfect, but I am a happy, loving and caring person. The two children I have, which are now 35 and 31 are my blessings in life. These blessings have blossomed into wonderful adults and have given me 3 grandchildren and another on the way.
After divorce work and grandchildren became my life. At the 1973 Waltrip 30th reunion in 2003, I was reacquainted to a man that I never thought would be much. But was I surprised to find out that I would fall in love with this man and he with me. He has a father that is a WWII veteran and what a good man he is. parent in the last 7 years. My family loves David and his Dad. I can say his Dad loves me like a daughter.
I have worked at Sterling Bank, here in Houston, for 15 1/2 years. Being a native Houstonian is one of those things that I am so proud of. It is amazing the people I have run into over those years that either went to Waltrip or knows someone in my family.
Enough of that background. My interests are my adventures with David, my children, my grandchildren and going to the Louisiana casinos with my sisters. Not necessarily in that order. I do so enjoy my "sisters trips." We laugh and cry and enjoy each other so much. I have 7 sisters and 5 brothers. My eldest brother, Charlie, died 3 months after my mom in 2007. So there are now 12 of us still on this earth. We were known as the Hughes kids on Hewitt and Glebe.
