Virginia's Story
Further updates... Really enjoying life on two coasts. California is just wonderful- the most beautiful summer weather in all the years i have lived here. Lots of wonderful dinners with friends and an amazing new living space- 1920s era honeymoon cottage with gleaming wood floors and sunlight spilling through the windows. Sounds of Long ISland childhood echiong through.... wooden screen doors slamming, push mowers on the lawns...and then half the year in Florida where memories sustain me and I choose to recall only the most blessed of those. A dock and a hammock and a friend forever.
Okay. updating. Again... presently freelance. I left TravelSmith and am seeking greener pastures. Living life fully. Bicycling, rollerblading, dining with friends,Lots of laughter. 2 daughters living the good life in Manhattan. Lots of cousins for them to play with.
So- I am drawing.sewing, loving, writing, reading, walking, skating, biking- finding amazing antiques, painting my dining room and wondering when some sort of industry is going to come back to this continent. Went to Italy in June an...Expand for more
d July- so amazingly beautiful.. why can their cows become beautiful purses and ours cannot- why do they produce the most extraordinary linen and we do not ...
Okay I am working on this.
Life: Just updating- Presently the Creative Director for TravelSmith.
Married living in California since 1984.(Alameda- 5 blocks from the beach)
2 daughters attending Fordham University- Manhattan and Bronx campuses.
I have worked as a designer/ illustrator/ creative director since graduating FIT in 1973.
Presently the Creative Director for Michael Chiarello's NapaStyle.
Basically love my work and spend free time walking or rollerblading on the beach. Lived through the dot com gold rush and the Loma Prieta quake- where i missed the collapse of the Bay Bridge by about 3 minutes of road distance from where the freeway collapsed.
Had two babies in the car at the time and am so thrilled that they are now New Yorkers and loving every minute of it.
Don't even know why I am taking the time to put my history here- except I got an email from someone from the past and thought it might be fun.
