Virginia's Story
I like their "Story Ideas" concept, so here's my story (and I'm stickin' to it):
1. What about me would surprise everyone at the high school reunion?
I'm downright gorgeous...in an Erma Bombeck sort of way.
2. What teacher would I love to see again?
Mrs. Wilbur. She saw a talent in me I never had the courage to admit I had ("had" being the operative word...you don't use it, you lose it).
3. What's the wildest thing I ever did in high school?
Married between my junior/senior year...had a baby over Christmas vacation...and got permission from the Dean to chuck our closed lunch period and my next class in order to go home and breastfeed each day. Pretty progressive, huh?
4. What happened to my first crush?
I haven't a clue. I'd Google him, but can't even remember how to spell his last name.
5. How do I hope old friends remember me?
I'd like to think people will recall me as being funny and kind and easy to get along with. Odds are, though, many won't remember me at all. I've always been a rather "beige" personality.
6. To be truly happy, I'd be where, doing what, with whom?
Here comes that "beige" thing again...I wouldn't want to be with anyone other than the man and children (and grandchildren) with whom I share my life...Expand for more
. I wouldn't mind living a bit closer to the kids, but here is fine for now. As far as the "what," it would be nice to hose down my writer's block, but that well's been dry an awfully long time.
7. What's been my biggest, unexpected "life" surprise?
I think my "beige" just turned to "vanilla." Haven't really had many surprises. A few "hmmms" now and then, but nothing particularly note-worthy.
8. If I had one do-over, what would I do differently?
I would have worked harder to stay at a healthy weight. I've gotten there...on more than one occasion...but I go up and down so much, my middle name should be Duncan.
9. What's the weirdest job I ever had?
Health inspector...sucked up an entire decade of my life. Man, I hated that job.
10. Where have I lived and why did I move?
During my first adult life, I lived in Indiana, Illinois, Rhode Island and South Carolina...all moves generated by US Navy orders.
During my current adult life (yes, these were separated by marriages), I've stayed in Indiana...Kokomo and now Avon, to be exact. Jobs in the Indy area prompted our move here.
If you have read this far, I thank you for your interest...and I wish you better luck in the future at finding more productive ways to spend your time. :-)
