How I Hope Old Friends Remember Me
How I hope old friends remember me is an interesting story topic. I hope I am remembered as being a good friend to many people, preferably to all. I thoroughly enjoyed my high school days. Every day was something to look forward to. I enjoyed all of my classes except algebra and I just didn't do well in that class. Poor Kardos tried, but he couldn't beat it into my head. It caught up with me again in college and I finally got it, at least enough to get through it with a decent grade. Other subjects came easy to me.
I hope friends remember me as a fun person to be around. I had a good time with most anyone I was with in high school, whether it be my very best friends, my boyfriends, my classmates in various classes, or someone I didn't know as well. I always tried to get to know students who transferred from other schools to our school and to make them feel like they were part of "us". I enjoyed the clubs and activities I was involved in such as clogging and smooth square dance teams, cheerleading, playing piano for the glee club, annual staff, FHA, and I can't remember all of them.

le town of Roan Mtn. even though I haven't lived there since I married.
I saw Freddy Julian that we graduated with on a Friday afternoon in Elizabethton somewhere, I don't remember exactly where it was. Anyway, I was dressed in the required black and orange colors for Elizabethton Cyclones. Since I taught in ECS, it was a requirement to wear the colors for spirit Fridays in support of the EHS Cyclones. Well, if you know Freddy, you know that I got a cussin', and a good one at that. He told me that my blood ran orange and that was a shame. He said his would always be blue and gold, even with his kids going to Hampton to school. I was shamed terribly for wearing the Elizabethton colors. Actually, the school where I taught, Harold McCormick Elementary, has blue/gold for school colors and I wore a lot of blue and gold during my 24+ yrs. of being a HMC teacher. Never did I put it on that I didn't think about the good ole blue and gold of the Cloudland Highlanders. I'd like to think my friends remember me for having school spirit and for being loyal to my school, friends, and my hometown. Most of all, I'd like to be remembered for being a Christian student, who put God first always.
