Vonceile (Rene')'s Story
I was only at Mac for my freshman year. I was at Travis Jr. High 7th and 8th, Mac 9th and then moved to Bedford. I graduated from L.D. Bell. I went to MacArthur Blvd. Baptist Church, so I kept in touch with all my friends from Mac and went to most of the football games and came to Irving most weekends. I married Malcolm Mikeska who graduated in 1970 from Mac. We started dating in 1969.
I have three wonderful children Jeremy Mac '94 (Aggie '98) , Shane '97 (Aggie '01) and Desiree' Mac' 99. Jeremy and his wife Jenni have given us four beautiful grandchildren, two boys Keaton '02, Gavin '04 , and 2 girls, Gracyn '06 and Rylann '09. Shane and his wife Lindsay have4 sons, Judson '09, Paton '10, Taylor '12 and Elliot '15. Malcolm and I have great fun being Pepper and Grammie.
I have worked at many jobs over the years. My favorite was at MacArthur High as the cashier from 1990 to 1998. I also drove a bus, and was able to drive my sons to their soccer games, be the time keeper for home games, and drive the Cardettes while my daughter was in the Cardettes. I was there while my kids were in high school. I quit and started working for BancTec. Inc, (for more money) in 1998 and then in Sept. of 1999 I was injured. My back was hurt and I learned I had 3 bulging discs. I worked off and on until Dec. and have not worked since. I have had 2 surgeries and I was feeling a lot better, but now I am having more pain in my back. I now have really bad knees and need knee replacement in my left knee. I have to pay off the Dr. before I can get the surgery done.
Malcolm has been my rock. He works hard all day and cooks every night. He takes me to the hospital and makes sure I have what I need at times I haven't been able to get out of bed. (after surgery or injections) I love him more than ever.
We still live in Irving and attend Plymouth Park Baptist Church. My faith is very important to me. When I asked God to forgive me of my sins and come into my heart, He answered my prayer. I work at living ...Expand for more
the Christian life ever since. I know I have not always been faithful but God is. He has blessed me in so many ways.
My children are some of the greatest blessings. Jeremy my oldest is 39 and is the Executive Pastor at Frisco Bible Church. He and Jenni are teaching my grandchildren about God's love, soccer, baseball and how to have fun. We love to go to their games and watch them play. One of my favorite things that Jeremy asks them is "How much does daddy love you? and they spread their arms as wide as they can, then he asks them how much does mommy love you and again they spread their arms as wide as they can, then he says who loves you most and they say God does." Today June 11th at 8:04am Jenni and Jeremy gave us our 5th grandchild. Rylann Clare was born and she is just beautiful. She looks a lot like her big sister Gracyn, we are so happy for them. Our love just keeps growing with each addition.
Shane and his wife Lindsay (Aggie '00) are missionaries in England They have given us 4 beautiful grandsons, Judson born Feb. 10, 2009. He is beautiful. Shane has been very sick. He has been to many Dr's. and taken many different meds. but so far nothing is working. We are continuing to pray for him. I know God will take care of him. We traveled to see them so we could see our newest grandchild in April 2009 and other than the long long flight we had a wonderful time. They were here on a medical leave to see Dr's to see if they can find something to help his stomach. So far nothing. They are now in Manchester England. I have been blessed to have been there twice after the last last 2 grandsons were born. They are very active and beautiful boys!!
Desiree' is working hard. She finally finished her degree. I know that God has the perfect mate for her, and know His timing is perfect, I just have to pray for patience for me.
Well, this has turned out a lot longer than I though. I have a good life even with a bad back. I have lots of friends, a wonder family and a church home.
