WILLIAM's Story
Upon graduating from Miami Senior High School in 1976, I moved to Dallas with my family for continuing education at Brookhaven Community College while going to work for the Zale Corporation. I worked my way up the corporate ladder starting off a sales associate in a Zale's Flagship Store in Dallas, Texas while being mentored by the founders of Zales learning everything about fine jewelry. I went from Sales, Manager Trainee, to Assistant Store Manager, and then I was promoted to Store Manager and opened over 7 stores in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area--yet had a dream of working in entertainment and television. Seven (7) years later I was pulled out of the stores to work in Corporate Sales Training and Management Development where I trained hundreds of new sales associates and was then promoted to Supervisor of Sales Training for 3 Divisions at Zale Corporation, The Guild Jewelry Division, Department Stores and Mission Jewelers. After working for 7 years in Training I was promoted to Strategic Programs Manager for The Fine Jewelers Guild for 2 years and, then, after the takeover of Zale Corporation by Peoples Jewelers Ltd. of Canada-I was brought up the ladder to a Division Management Position to create and direct the International Quality Assurance Department for Fine and Fashion Jewelry traveling to Hong Kong, Bangkok Thailand, and d...Expand for more
omestically throughout the U.S. ensuring the quality of fine jewelry for Zale Corp. My last promotion at Zale Corporation led me to the position of Director of (ARS), the Advisory and Replacement Services Division for Zale Corporation overseeing this department for the U.S. All along, I wanted to work in entertainment television, after 16 years with Zale Corporation, I was recruited by HSN, the Home Shopping Network which brought me back to my home state of Florida (the Tampa Bay Region) where I developed the Quality Assurance Program for HSN. Two years later, HSN had open auditions for Show Hosts--I auditioned and was 1 of 8 people recruited (with over 580 who auditioned) to became a Show Host on national television and that led my career On Air for over 20 years, at the end of my Journey with HSN, I was promoted to HSN On Air Guest Trainer for New Guest Hires and two years later built my own company and returned on air working for my own company, Bill Green Enterprises, LLC as an On Air Guest working for both HSN in the U.S. and TSC in Canada which I continue to do today. I owe a great deal to both my drama Teacher from Miami High, Marty Hancock and my English teacher Elizabeth Rickets who sponsored the first ever Film and Video Production Club called Creative Media for their guidance and education to make my dream come true!
