Wade's Story
I became a Christian in 1973 and went into the ministry a few years later. I went to college in Springfield Mo. and then seminary in Lexington KY. I lived in Missouri for 11 years primarily in the southwest area not far from Branson though some time was spent in the north-central portion of the state. I pastored in the Indy area for 12 years mainly on the west side. I lived in the Evansville area for 5 years. I have two grown children one graduated from IU Kelly School of Business the other graduated from Purdue. I was married for 23 years then divorced and finished the process of raising our children. I remarried back in 2009. I now live in the Greenfield Indiana area.
In 2010 I came across a unique property and in the Great Recession managed to pull off purchasing it . It has a 10-acre private lake in the backyard that was once the Indianapolis area's largest single pay lake. It was my first go-round at being a farmer and living on Green Acres . g for months I was finally diagnosed with AML leukemia, the worst form of the disease. After spending two months at Simon Cancer over the course of 2014 I went home with the odds that were 9 out of 10 I would assume room temperature in no longer than 5 years and likely much sooner. But I just kept coming back with normal blood readings. So this year they told me they thought I was the one out of ten guy who would survive it. This too has been an interesting journey along with all of the others. Great insight and blessings come from being able to view your own death eyeball to eyeball. I believe they wrote a song about that. However, I recognize this is only a temporary reprieve and not a forever get-out-of-jail-free card.
Now as I retire I'm having the joy of starting a business and renting out the property on Airbnb and Homeaway.
Isn't life fascinating and always full of surprising twists and turns. In every turn and every up and down there are things to be learned about life and our purpose for being here. God is good and so is life... this present one and the one just around the corner. I hope all my dear friends are doing well as they make the journey along with me.
