Walker's Story
I joined the US Naval Reserve while in high school. After graduation I went to Navy boot camp in Corpus Christi, TX and then on to the Naval Schools Command at Treasure Island (San Francisco) for training as an electronics technician.
I became an amateur radio operator and a member of the Treasure Island Amateur Radio Club - K6NCG. The beginning of a hobby that is still with me today.
Following completion of training I went on to my new duty station aboard the aircraft carrier, USS Wasp CVS-18. I was assigned to OE Division. The next two years I participated in the recovery phase ...Expand for more

After the Navy I spent a few years working various jobs and operating a small marine radar and two way radio business, I went to work as an instrumentation technician for a coastal marine research group associated with Louisiana's premier university, LSU...
Some thirty one years later, I retired. I traveled the world in support of oceanographic research. My Institute worked on every continent in the world except "Antartica". It was a great ride!
Now I spend more time with my wife, dogs and hobbies such as wood working and amateur radio (WB5MPV)...
