Life
Well, I guess those of you who knew me back then would not believe what has become of me today. Actually, it's hard to believe it myself. I was one those that was bored with school and never wanted to be there. I graduated on time, but barely. It wasn't because I couldn't do it, I did'nt really want to. Classic underachiever!! It took me a couple of extra years to get my degree. I traveled around and took a couple of years off. It's really not fair to ask an 18 year old to decide what to do with their future. It's even more unfair for a 21 year old to go out in the world. I don't think kids are mature enough at that age. I finished with a Banking/Finance degree at Ole Miss. ut me now, you know the story. For the rest of you, here is the condensed version.
I am now a chef with an eponymous restaurant in Memphis,TN. I'm quite well known nationally as I've been featured in numerous magazines and newspapers. I have appeared on "Great Chefs" on Discovery Channel, featured on CBS Sunday Morning, appeared on NBC "Today", and now have a regular program on Turner South called "Off The Menu", which was nominated for an Emmy this year. Quite an amazing ride for a small town boy from Cleveland, MS. I hope to open several more restaurants in the near future. Other than that, I've been married for almost 15 years now with 2 beautiful daughters.
All in all, I'm a very lucky man and thankful for it.
