Walter's Story
Life
Let's see...30 years reduced to a paragraph.
Nine jobs, seven addresses, three cities, three marriages, two kids, one motorcycle and one '64 TBird later...I have finally stopped rolling. Life is good.
After graduating from Virginia Tech in 1981 I spent 22 years playing the advertising game, primarily in Chiacgo & DC. I have now settled in Wausau, Wisconsin with my wife Marsha and two girls, Lucy 8 and Madelyn 6. (Yea, I started late.) In 2003 I started my own consulting company specializing in brand developement and marketing. This venture has grown to include an ecommerce investment company.
My memories of TJ are few (now). I think I spent alot of time observing versus participating back then. I remember the weirdness of Mrs. Miklas's English class, the seriousness of Mr. Soapes math class and the craziness of Mr. Hoffman's...Expand for more
music class (I was in the marching band; remember the trumpet guillotine?).
I remember Bob Turley's hot rod blue Torino, the Playboy model my girlfriend shared lockers with, Roger Oyster and Charles Webb's morning announcements
and going to The Block with Key Club -- among many other things.
For those who knew me, Lynne Fairchild '76 and I stayed together until 1984.
For those who knew me, yes, I did B S my way through high school, which ended up working perfectly in an advertising career. Although I did learn to back it up with facts and results (of course).
For those who knew me, I took all those cartoons and doodles and designs and made a fun living out of them. My Mom still says that her son "draws" for a living.
Anyway, somehow I have survived.
(To Janet N., whereever you are, I remember your kiss most of all!)
