BIOGRAPHY OF Bishop Walter Dixon Of Atlanta, GA “KNOWN AS THE BISHOP OF PRAYERS” A Holy Spirit led teacher, loving, and dedicated pastor are attributes that describe this great man of God, Bishop Dixon. Many call him the Bishop of Prayers, as he is known to pray for any and everyone. He is also known to others as the minister with a pure and kind heart because he believes as the Apostle Simon Peter did in that “in as much as you’ve done it to the least of these, you’ve done it unto me.” Bishop Dixon believes in being used as a mouthpiece for our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ by teaching Gods Word. He obeys the Lords calling on his life by following the Great Commission which commands him to “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost, teaching then to observe all things what so ever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Bishop Dixon is a Georgia native and comes from a lineage of 13 generations of ministers. He graduated from University of Kentucky where he received his Bachelor's in Business Administration and a graduate from HR Certification Institute where he received his "PHR-Certification" in Professional Human Resources. Bishop Dixon accepted his calling and was ordained in 1990 and became an Associate Pastor at Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church and has been on the battlefield for the Lord ever since. This anointed steward is admired for the AGAPE love and compassion that he shows toward all individuals. From 1994-1997, he was the Senior Pastor of the God in Christ Missionary Baptist Church. In 2001, God gave Archbishop Dixon a great vision of transforming an empty retail storefront of (4) thousand feet into a beautiful complex where God would be glorified. He wrote the vision and made it plain for all to see. After much prayer and hard work, this great vision began to manifest. In 2002, he became the Founder and Senior Pastor of Forgiveness Missionary Church of Christ where under his direction and leadership, Forgiveness grew from a small member church to a membership of nine hundred. Bishop Dixon is extremely grateful to God for blessing this great union for over 8 years. Bishop Dixon is an overly generous giver which is evident in his ministry. This was an outreach ministry that provides private and public spiritual counseling and prayers to the poor, middle class, celebrities, politicians and anyone that needs prayer. He believes the scripture in I Thessalonians 5:17 which admonishes us “to pray without ceasing.” With this in mind, he never forgot those in the jails and prisons as he prayed and ministered to inmates throughout Georgia. This ministry is near and dear to his heart, because he truly has a heart for the well being of Gods people. He believes that we are the salt and light of the world and only by showing kindness to others will the world know us as believers of God’s Word. He is always mindful of Gods words which states, “For I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me something to drink; I was a stranger, and you invited Me in; naked, and you clothed Me; I was sick, and you visited Me; I was in prison, and you came to Me.”—Matthew 25:35-36 Bishop Dixon shared his testimony of how he worked as the Senior Executive Vice President of Operations and Corporate Affairs of Joe Jackson Production Hollywood, CA prior to coming to Christ.
