Walter's Story

its memorial day, so in memory of all those who arent with us and hopefully their families are well 'still child like in my pursuits of thrill/adrenaline/tranquility/humility thru surfing and ice hockey among all other activities. still up for a stage dive at a concert or crazy dance (rock lobster, sex pistols) or riding horses, extracting bees from houses (i'm deadly allergic to them). im getting older so im finally slowing down a lil (not) but it gets too costly being stitched up or losing wages from concussions and other injuries. i now reside in puerto rico and enjoy all the things ive desired and enjoy being able to do. not a big partier but definitely enjoy partying hard with a purpose (no drugs) every now and then. i still do civil/construction engineering and work mostly as a self employed carpenter, project mananger. i also teach ice skating and hockey (certified usa hockey coach) as well as surf lessons, tour guide in PR, snorkeling guide and all sports/vocationail instruction. crazy because i didn't figure this all out till my mid 20's thru now. i live simple after doing the professional 9-5 engineering thing back in the states for 10 years. i guess im happy but do miss the normalcy of raising a family and being more structured. i miss the availability of diverse live forms of enterntainment available back in the states. i usually go back 1-2 times a year. I miss the ability to go to NYC or philly late night for amusement or cheesesteaks, killer vegan food, freaks on the streets or people in general. i miss real ice hockey play and being aa spectator at all professional events. once engaged but let it go as i had my hands full helping to take and raise a niece and 4 nephews after a sisters untimely death. all the more stronger because of this and the other life experiences. wish i could go back and give a few apology's in person (sorry if i had a big mouth) and treat the teachers w/ a lil more respect. i do actually have vivid (and fond ) memories of alot good times w/ good people from all my years in the TR schools (glad im not growing up there now with Ritacco era, make me sick an arena named after yourself). its weird going back there now because i do yearn for the days of old yet realize progress is inevitable. im kind of a liason for many people back in JOISEY who come here for vacations and fun, ......so please if ur ever in PR write me ill at least steer u in the right direction the best i can to help. i definitely enjoy a sense of purpose helping others and doing my civic duties (i even now give up surfing, etc. to help in the right situations). i know one thing, TR and JOIsey definitely offered up enough oppurtunity and unique experiences to make me a well rounded, considerate person (and my family as well). whats up with the q&a section here listing preferences out of order. (i don't own rodents and lizards but they're all over on a tropical island ) AND SORRY MRS. ESKDALE, YOUR TEACHING METHODS STUNK AND PROBALY WHY I WRITE WITH RUN-ON SENTENCES. sophmore english at hs north (what a self effacing snob) great classmates though, u know who u are is it me or was TRHS north (as a 13 yr old ninth grader going to school at midday with 18 yr olds who could purchase alcohol) part of the reason it took me a few years longer to figure out what life was all about. IT WAS LIKE a friggin grateful dead show everyday u got off the bus. (alot my fault because i knew better but at that age......... u just wanted to get some kicks, i just wanted to meet some chicks, rock rock rock rock n roll high school (still blast the ramones and MJ's beat it) anyway, hope all i offended can forgive me and i as well.........and to all of you that i grew up with....i wouldn't have wanted any other way (except u hotties who shot me down, u dont know what u missed) alot of aggravation and fun all in one ying and yang good and bad hope to see ya again in this life and if not i think we'll be back outside a B-wing setup in a spiritual type of toms river north setting somewhere in the afterlife pps can someone tell me if i go back to the ritacco center to see like molly hatchet or devo or some concert they hold there....can i smoke and drink southern comfort while waving a lighter in the air doing the wave in my levis and flannel with a bandanna around my head ........or do i get arrested or ISS In school suspension was the b...Expand for more
