Walter's Story
Trying to sum up the last 50 years ...
Went away to college at the U. of I. in Champaign to major in chemical engineering. Headed for the west coast on graduation to work for Union Oil in the Bay Area.
After a couple of years in San Francisco and and three years in northern Montana at a small refinery, I returned to the Chicago area to work at Union Oil's (Unocal's) refinery near Lemont.
Still with Unocal, transferred to the Geothermal Division, moving with wife and two kids to the Philippines in 1980. Returned stateside ...Expand for more
in 1983 to Santa Rosa, California working on Geysers projects in northern Cal and ultimately on new developments in Indonesia. Changes in the Company resulted in a move to oil & gas at the Moab, UT gas plant in 1992, where I worked until retirement in 2007.
We continue to live and enjoy living in Moab.
Married a girl from Tinley Park in 1973 and have two buttheads - Wendy and Robert - who have both transplanted to Texas. Both are married and working as a vet and engineer respectively. Wendy's family includes two grandchildren.
