Walter's Story
Life
Life is wonderful and busy. Married to Vergie; 42 years now. Two children: Deborah and Michael. Five grandchildren: Will, Hannah, Nathan, Ben, and Audrey.
Enjoy astronomy, reading, downhill skiing in Breckenridge, slolom water skiing in the summer, woodworking, yard and home projects, bicycling, canoeing and fishing, walking, singing and playing my accordion for church and for local nursing homes, and being with family. Also enjoy some travelling.
School
North Muskegon School: 1949.
Hile School: 1950 to 1959.
Favorite teachers: Mrs. Porter, Mrs. Ochs, Mr. Arnold.

Favorite teacher: Madame Tool, Mr. Richesky, Mr. Rolfe, Mr. Trautman, and Mr. Hughes. I guess I really liked every one of them.
College
Michigan Technological University: BS Metallurgical Engineering-1967.
University of Illinois: MS Metallurgical Engineering-1985.
Workplace
Worked for Hamilton Sundstrand Aerospace for 36.5 years.
Retired in 2003 as Advisory Aerospace Materials Engineer.
Military
Army ROTC in college.
Two years active duty in Army Engineers (one year in Colorado Springs and one year in sunny Viet Nam).
Four years in Army Engineer Reserves.
