My father died my first year in high school, and mother died about six years later. After graduating from Temple High School, I worked and attended UT parttime. I divorced my first husband. In 1949, I moved to Houston. I attended University of Houston. I was employed as an admininistrative assistant when I sat for the CPS exams at UH. Scored in the top national 10% in exams for Business Law, Office Procedures, Accounting. I married again, and my hsband contracted multiple myaloma cancer, and died in 1975. Afterwards, I worked in Zurich, SW, for a short time. I came back to Houston. i became interested in Jungian Psychology and attended Jung Institute. After holding positions in administration for several years, i became corporate secretary for a NASDAQ company. When the company moved to New York City, I resgined and stayed in Houston. I was never a member of NOW or Women's Lib, but I did work for women's rights and was part of the group who fought to get fair credit for women. We finally received that for Texas women in October of 1975. All through my career, I spoke to various groups and high school and college graduating classes for the advancement of women in business and the possible psychological fallout their new freedoms would have on women.
