Wanda Howard:  

GO LANCERS! I grew up on Gallant St. and graduated BGH in 1961. Graduated Thursday, got my driver's license on Friday and started Cosmetology down town LA at LA Trade Tech on Monday. I became engaged to the love of my life Monte Howard, class of '57, the day before my 18th birthday, finished school and got married on August 4, 1962. I got my Cosm license in Oct of 1962, but I never worked in a shop; my hubby and kids didn't go to a barber shop for some 25 years! I am a Champion of young people,and have given hundreds of free haircuts to my kids and grandkids friends and acquaintances....if they look good they feel good! Our first son, Kevin, was born in Sept '63. We bought our first house out in Stanton (Orange Cty) in '64, and lived there for 6 years. Our 2nd son Keith was born in Nov '65 and our daughter Kim was born in July "67. I was lucky enough over the years not to have to work....we just always made do with what we had. In Oct of 1970 we moved to Ann Arbor, MI (job) and we have been here in MI ever since. We moved to Kingsford, in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, after Monte retired from the Chrysler Proving Ground in'01 and, yesiree, I am a bonafide "Yooper".....you betcha, eh? It's God's country up here with fishing and hunting and all it entails, abounding! I don't do either, nor did my husband. Our daughter Kim lives up here with her hubby, Kevin, and 2 girls, Hayley 18 and Paige 17. Our son Kevin mo...Expand for more
