Wavonne's Story
Long and winding road. Came from a farm, left it thinking I was never dealing with animals and vegetables again. What a laugh! Don't we always circle back to our roots in some way or another? Worked in IT for Duke Power for 14 years, got caught in the "cut-backs" when they went to the LAN system. Put myself back in college and became an RN. Worked for Rutherford Hospital in the Psychiatric Unit for 14 years. Yeah, I can hear you all laughing...I fit perfectly in that unit! I loved it! Bought myself a mini-farm while I was working ...Expand for more
there and got myself some animals (alpacas, goats, chickens, etc.) Would still be working at the Psych Unit, but one of the patients seriously injured my back. Had back surgery, but am disabled now. So...the circle back home is complete. I ditched the alpacas (yeah, they're nice, but they're not FOOD), Decided to go with cows, pigs, and chickens. I am a serious gardener and raise almost all my vegetables, fruits and berries. So, I'm just a farmer, now. Back to the earth, and loving it. Ya'll come on by. Would love to here from you.
