Wayne's Story

Life Wow, life's been a ride! Not nearly as wild as I once thought it would be, (Thank God) in retrospect, I can see how a few forks in the road, the decisions we make and the people we choose to associate with in youth can so greatly affect our lives, and the life’s of those around us. For any of you that by some chance remember me, I apologize. I can’t really think of anything good about my days at Midlothian, and that's a real shame. Don't check your yearbooks so fast. You see, I got this brilliant idea early in my senior year, September '75, that I didn't need high school. Got in my '68 Z28, did a donut in the student parking lot and never looked back, (I thought I was rebellious, turns out I was just a fool) Then and there, it just didn't seem that I could go back. Even though I wanted to. Not knowing exactly what to do with myself, I listened just once to my father and went in the Navy Reserves. If nothing else, I definitely grew up in boot camp, both physically and mentally. After boot camp I slowly started to right the ship, no pun intended. Long story shortened, my life has continued to improve ever since. I guess God gave some gifts that I've been able to capitalize on. How many people can say they quit high school...Expand for more
in their senior year, a very probable life-long loser, and have gone on to earn a BS/BA, Managed a three million dollar consulting practice for an S&P 500 company, and are now a Managing Partner and Executive Director of Technology for a twenty million dollar regional consulting firm? I’ve also got three great kids, Chris, 24, a successful young executive and parent. Lauren, 18, a pre-med student at the University of Illinois and Amy, a Junior at Godwin who plays high school and travel soccer and wants to be a teacher. Not too shabby? Along the way I've had also had some fun. It turns out that I'm driven to be good at whatever I do, too much so according to my wife! My hobbies have included Skydiving, Semi-Pro Football, Rugby, Road racing, Amateur Bodybuilding, ('99 Old Dominion Open Masters Champion), Personal Training, Boating, (2004 SeaRay-24') and the one my wife loves to hate, GOLF. I'm trying to learn how to play; I've been at it for 10 years, play twice a week and am playing to an 8.4 handicap. My current sports motivation is to get down to a 3.6 handicap by age 50, so I can at least play in a first round U.S. Senior Open Qualifier (2008). I'm sure I wouldn't advance, but it's goal. (I'm big on goals). Well, say hi!
