Wendie's Story

Life Wendie (Branstrom) McKnelly We live in mountains of Northern Arizona after living in Phoenix/ Glendale, Arizona for almost 28 years. I have enjoyed a career as an Oracle Education Consultant for 20 years. During the past five years, I have been an independent education consultant, teaching many of the Oracle applications throughout the USA. I am so lucky to be able to travel, teach and enjoy a really great profession. Living in the middle of a forest works since I fly to my clients' site each week. Through my work I have had the opportunity to travel all over the world. Through the past 17 years, I have visited many incredible places. I have hiked the mountains of Hong Kong Island, danced in jazz clubs of Sao Paulo Brazil, walked the cobblestone sidewalks of Stockholm, and stood on the top of the Eiffle Tower in Paris (as high as they will let you go). Life has been a great adventure! I Love working with computer programs, and teaching business applications. My hobbies include cooking, Karaoke, gardening, creating video presentations, boating (water skiing/wind surfing), hiking, and camping and of course, travel. I've been a member of Sigma Phi Gamma, a non-profit charity organization, for more than thirty-three years. I've held all the local and state offices through President. In 2011 I became the International Editor of the organizations magazine. I create...Expand for more
graphic designs and arrange the articles submitted by members. It's a rewarding effort for a great non-profit, charity organization. I am married to Darryl McKnelly. Between us, we have three children and four grandchildren, two boys, two girls. We lost my first little grand-daughter, Maddie, to a cancerous brain tumor in the fall of 2008. She was a precious little girl, who now lives in the glory of heaven. We have been living on our 125 acre ranch in the mountians of northern Arizona for more than 6 years. I always fly to my client sites, so when I fly home, I head up the mountain to enjoy our piece of heaven and play with our three rescue dogs. As a 20 year cancer survivor, I have a keen appreciation for a life/work balance. I have been very fortunate in that there are always more project opportunities offered to me, than I could ever handle, so I can pick and choose. For anyone out there facing chemo and radiation- There is life after cancer, in fact my life has been an amazing journey AFTER cancer, and I wouldn't change anything! It is truly a wonderful life. Karaoke is still one our favorite hobbies. OCTOBER 2013 - My classmate, Kit (Remo) Allison and his wife Bonnie came to visit at our ranch in Northern AZ. What a great time we had. Kit and I went to school at Lincoln Jr. High, and Kit went on to graduate from South High School in Salt Lake City.
