Wendy's Story
Update: officially began second life - working was seriously less hectic but not nearly as much fun. Recent goals reached: Swim a mile, run a 10 K and ride 20 miles - same day but with breaks! Treasurer of local recycling organization - a certain Physics teacher smiling down on me for that, and volunteering (helping) with hubby at no kill shelter. Loving the Land of Enchantment. Below prior to pay year or so (taught online after move).
After being voted (unofficially), most likely to flunk out I did go to college and stayed in one capacity or another. I have spent the last 14 years teaching Psychology and developing - coordinating - instructing online classes. I am spending time today on site in preparation for tomorrow’s class. I have my students considering emotions and one of our topics is nostalgia. I try to be authoritative in approach so I am doing myself what I ask of them. ion so that has inspired my journey as well. On the subject, the class of 1965 has managed a regular turnout to their reunions by keeping it simple and casual. Just a thought. If someone could get Congressman Pascrell to attend the next Class of 1973 reunion and speak, I would be there with bells on - I promise.
I am sad to learn of the passing of the few teachers I let sign my yearbook -- inclusive of but not limited to John Villano. Wasn't it Billy Joel that asked, "Why do the good die young?" I never had him as a teacher but spent time yapping with him during his "other duties" (hall monitoring maybe) when I was supposed to be somewhere else.
Three teachers I am most curious about would be Ethel Gamble, Roseann Bostonian, and Chris Wuertz. I would be interested in any updates.
Peace

A bit of a PS -- I am teaching at University of Hartford and doing distance learning for NCCC (been teaching Psychology since 1991).
