Wendy's Story

Well my story. Seems like a lifetime ago when I left home. I went to Boise to business school, where I could be whomever I wanted to be and I did just that. I got married, saw some of the country, but it didn't work out. So I got remarried had two children, Scott 24 and Juliane 23, both doing fantastic and living the life I would have wanted for everyone. My husband, Jim, is now retired after many years in the Carpenters Union and I work at the local school in my 12th year as a Teachers Aide in the special education department waiting for retirement. We live on a beautiful lake in the mountains of New York. (Yes, there are mountains in New York, believe it or not, in the land of this countries beginnings, Fort Ticonderoga.) We are and have been building our house and I have learned a lot about patience and a tape measure, saw, and many other tools of the trade. just me. I love to bowl. I am on a league team and our most important rule is to have fun and of course knock back a few. Maybe that is why my average isn't all that good, oh well. I have been part of the political scene and did a lot of work for our lake association on the local, state and national level. I miss it but duty called and I went to work. I enjoy working outside in my flower and vegetable gardens, working on quilts and other craft projects, and am known as the "Cookie Lady" by the kids at school. Thank you grandma for all your recipes. I have been getting home more often to see my folks but haven't gotten up the courage to touch base with anyone. The only one I have had contact with is Julie Wuthrich but mostly Christmas cards and that is on a hit and miss bases (sorry Julie I can't seem to get the address right). So I guess in parting I would have to say yes, I do miss "Home" but it has been so long. How do you reconnect after all these years?
