Wendy's Story
Life
Nothing exciting in my life. Moved around alot; Odessa, Midland, Abilene, San Angelo, Sheffield, and now Lubbock (where I plan to stay til I draw my last breath).
I've been a nurse for uummm, well, forever it seems. I have a 17 yr old son (Jonathan) and 2 step-children (Lacy 19, and Kyle who passed away February 3, 2005 at the age of 17). My husband, Scott, was a correctional officer for 10 years with TDCJ. Now we own our own business (Cactus Creek Firewood), which keeps him pretty busy, but could be busier.
College
Not much to tell about my college days. Went through the OC school of Vocational Nursing in Kermit. Graduated tired and weary, but none the less I graduate...Expand for more
d, and have been working my butt off every since and getting little monetary value from the work, and even less appreciation for wiping butts and cleaning up vomit; but this is the road I chose, and I shall travel it with my head held high.
Workplace
Work, work, and more work. What can I say about nursing. The hours suck, the pay is never enough, and no one apprciates what you do for them, but I hang in there because someday SOMEONE will remember the little things I did for them, and it will all be worth while.
I currently work in the ICU at the JT Montford Unit (TDCJ). Only place I can work were I can tell my "patients" to SHUT THE HELL UP and actually get away with it. LOL.
