First 20 years: I went to PLU for a year and met Kathy. We transferred to WWU together. I graduated with my BA in accounting in Dec '81. Kathy and I married in Jan. I eventually decided to join the Air Force. I enlisted since my only options for officer entry was navigator or missile jockey. After one and a half years, I was accepted for an education and commissioning program. The Air Force sent me to UPS for my BS in computer science (with a two-grade promotion three months after Taylor was born). Going to school at full pay, without having to work, and someone else paying all the education expenses is definitely the way to go. I spent six years flying a keyboard. I volunteered to get kicked out in '91 during the post-desert storm rif. I collected an MA in Information Resources Management from Webster U before I left the Air Force, qualifying me to work as the computer science department chair at City University. They are still using the basic format of the new degree program I designed. I was sick of academic politics after two and half years and left. I worked in customer service for Aspen Technology for nearly seven years.
