Life
I'm a reprobate journalist (see that wonderful picture? It's from my White House credentials... how scary is THAT???) having pounded my tuba into a pen (swords to plowshares?) What other job allows personal outrage every day, yet pays?
I live in DC, a house sorta near the stadium (Realtors would call it Capitol Hill) with a front yard so filled with flowers it looks like a Mafia funeral, a small back yard full of vegetables: tomatoes, beans, various lettuce, collards, kale, basil, strawberries... jam packed.

twice (Indiana both times) to garden spots of Seymour -- southern -- where my stories put a mayor and some others in jail for bribery and also led to a big scnadal with EPA. Mid 90s, wonderful Gary, where I was news editor. Downtown looks like pictures of Berlin in 1947 ... but 30 minutes away was Chicago, a toddlin' town if ever there was one...
Now I'm working for UPI, a wire service, as an editor. They actually wanted send me to Afghanistan beacuse "with that beard and all, you'd fit right in ... wrong). Also freelancing various things...
