William's Story

Life William Affleck-Asch-Lowe went on to SFU, Selkirk College, Capilano College, and the University of Washington (in Seattle), where he picked up a few pieces of paper on the way. Did a few things that got him into Who's Who in the World - some plays, published articles worldwide, the usual thing. Currently works at the University of Washington as the Data Manager for the UW Alzheimer's Disease Research Center, in the Department of Medicine (Medical Genetics), and has also helped find malaria drug targets in the Biochemistry Department. Has lived in Seattle since 1989, after a stint in the Canadian Armed Forces as a Sargeant, and now does databases for a living. When he's not biking around France (April 2001), visiting the French West Indies, or Burning Man. On return to the States, reverted his name to Will Affleck-Asch. In Seattle, Will got engaged, got married, had a son in 1991, and is now divorced but hopeful. Active in his neighbourhood of Fremont in Seattle, he is known for doing the impossible on occassion. Such as those recycled paper inserts you find in your magazines. Most of his family now resides in Santa Barbara, where his sister Sue is married to an actor. His brother Dave recently divorced after seventeen years of marriage and has twin girls. His brother Chris is a lawyer, admitted to the bar in B.C. and New York, and practices in New York City. Current interests: PTSA, N.O.W. (Lifetime member), Cinema Seattle (Lifetime member), Music, Foreign Films, Investments, Fremont Solstice Parade, Burning Man, French, and much more. ed nights proofing pages and having a difficult time being admitted - as a reporter - to cover events in Women's Studies (ironic, considering I got A's in my two women's studies courses, and later served on a N.O.W. chapter and state board for more than a decade). Still remember throwing up from gin - how much did I drink? - at a Peak Staff Party, and enjoyed our retreats. Wish I'd been less shy, but glad I got elected to Student Council on the catchy slogan "A chicken on every streetcorner" - got more No votes for me than all the candidates for President of the Council that year got Yes votes (combined!) - it was a joke ... Had fun running rings around PoliSci majors who had been elected under their minors with the English student rep - man, that was hoot! Sad to hear one of my best friends - who I thought burned out and went home - in fact died in a fall off the cliffs of S.F.U. - wow! He was a great guy. Eventually got my act together and went on to do well. Totally cool to see S.F.U. on Battlestar Galactica. If you're ever in Seattle, look me up in the phone book as Will Affleck-Asch. Military 44th Field Engineer Squadron (Pte to MCpl, Field Engineer) 1 Combat Engineer Regiment (attached, Pte(T),Cpl,MCpl) 6th Field Engineer Squadron (MCpl) Royal Westminster Regiment (MCpl,Sgt) CFB Chilliwack, Vancouver Detatchment (MCpl,Sgt) served as Area Chief Clerk (Res.), Area Acting Security Officer (Res.), Area Lead Oracle Programmer (Res.) SECRET Clearance glad they got the terrorists we spent so many hours on counter-terrorism ops looking for, wish it hadn't taken more than a decade for the trials!
