William's Story
After Franklin my life became very interesting. I attended Pasadena City College for awhile until my money ran out and I had to go to work for PACBELL. I changed employers (Government.Contractor, I.T.T. Corporation) and went to South Vietnam near the end of the war. (1971-1973). It was a life changing experience. I returned from Vietnam in one piece due to Divine Intervention and worked all over the U.S. for a communications corp., married and had my first son. The economy took a downturn so I joined the Army in order to provide a stable environment for my family, earn a university education, and to serve our wonderful country. I spent the.next ten years in Europe as a Defense Communications Agency Radio Station Commander. I loved experiencing different cultures and learning new languages. My work was very critical to our Nations defense, physically and mentally challenging, and personally rewarding
. I have two sons who have earned their Master Degrees and are doing very well in life and are very happy. I am extremely proud of both my sons achievements and love them dearly.
After I was retired from the Army for serious injuries incurred in the line of duty. I went to work for NASA as a Senior Electronics Engineer. I worked at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory near Pasadena, Ca

on upgrading the Deep Space Communications Network. I was promoted and then transferred to the NASA Ames Research Center near Sunnyvale, Ca where I was put in charge of all data communications projects and programs. I loved the work but despised the awful California schools my sons attended and the very high cost lof living in Silicon Valley.
I moved to the Sacramento area where most of my family lived at that time and went to work as a GS-12 Environmental Engineer for the Pentagon. I had to return to U.C. Davis to obtain the knowledge and certifications in the field of Environmental Sciences as this was a completely new field for me. My last position was working for the Pentagon closing down military bases during the Clinton administration. I grew tired of constantly moving around the U.S. and with the Very ugly work environment and political corruption associated with working at that level for the U.S. Government. I decided to not work for the U.S. Govt. anymore and retired for good. I now spend my time with family and friends traveling the world and enjoying life as much as possible.
I have no regrets serving the American people. I know I have truly made a genuine positive difference in the world and that satisfies my soul.
God Bless America,
Bill Chisholm
