William's Story

Life After high school graduation I went to Virginia Tech and studied chemical engineering. While there I was in the coop program and completed 5 work assignments with Dow Chemical. After graduating from Virginia Tech in 1985 I went to graduate school at UConn and got my PhD in chemical engineering in 1991. Okay... all of that took a long time! Yikes! But I finally got out of school and started working at GE Global Research in Niskayuna, NY, where I am now manager of the Combinatorial Chemistry Lab. I'm happily married and have two kids. In my spare time I play banjo in a bluegrass band called the...Expand for more
Riverview Ramblers -- google that to find out more -- we even recorded a CD! I also play and perform on an instrument called the hammered dulcimer -- google my name and "hammer dulcimer" to find my web site, and I am working on home-recording a CD featuring that instrument. My wife is a labor & delivery nurse... we met when we were at UConn. She is very artistic and is very active with jewelry making and flower gardening. We have two golden retrievers, three cats, and a 35-gallon fishtank in the living room. I also have a 30-gallon cichlid fishtank in my office, which attracts a lot of attention.
