William's Story
Life
What to say without being a bore? Nothing. I pretty much stayed around Fairview Hts. I went to work for the Police Dept in '78 in the Communications Section; Moved to Greenville (IL) in '81 when I got hired as a Patrol Officer there; Graduated the Police Training Institute at U of I that same year. I got lured back to FHPD in '82 but left there in '84. I made a major move to Farmington (MO) in '85 when I got hired there. (Which I thought was the best thing I've done.) I was selected as Law Enforcement Officer of the Year for 1988 in a statewide competition and got married that same year. The marriage didnt last long (the mentally ill are hard to spot sometimes). I got homesick and began to migrate back, ending up with the East St Louis Police Dept (be nice!) in 1992. (Which has really been the best thing I've ever do...Expand for more
ne!) I picked up another wife along the way (lovely, bubbly gal named Judy and we have two boys Jordan and Alex!) I'm currently a Sgt with ESLPD and am mostly supervisory (I get first choice of the donuts) but still work Patrol. My free time is split between a hobby (spelled O-B-S-E-S-S-I-O-N)I've developed with old British sports cars.( I've restored 1 and have another in progress.), my kids (which take a lot of my time but I'm happy to spend it on them.), Tae Kwon Do, and the usual manly things we men do (lawn care, laundry, shopping). So here I am, all grown up and though I havent made that million dollars yet, crisscrossed the world on great adventures, become a household name (a**hole doesnt count), written the great american novel, or saved the world, I'm happy with what I've done, and in the end that's what matters.
