William R.'s Story
Life
I've been in Los Angeles since the Army. Worked on the Apollo space program, a systems troubleshooter for IBM, performed a leveraged buyout of a Concrete company in 84, business consultant. Now in the construction industry, building things or tearing them down for new works. I collect Vintage limousines and have a "highend" Limo service in LA; 2 boys and 2 girls(latter boy&girl twins), divorced and anticipating the future!
Workplace
Returning from VietNam (Fri 13th, Oct.67 (48-hours;Int'nl dateline)) I hired into No American Aviation, in Downey, Calif. on the Apollo space program.
Aerospace was declining, and I moved into jobs welding, then Construction trucking, eventually bought my own truck.
I hauled boats, cross-country, and saw most of the picturesque USA. Returning to contruction hauling, including low-bed work of heavy equipment.
In 78, I started operating the Caterpillar type equip, for a living, selling my truck.
Calif. is a "union" state, and I am an "operating-engineer." This work has provided a "comfortable" lifestyle, and I began to accumulate Vintage Limousines, (Cadillac...Expand for more

In Hollywood, the client's are eager to "rent" my cars. They are in Museum condition, and fetch a tidy sum. (1941,42,56,60,78 & 95)
One of our classmates, attended some "car-shows" where my Cadillacs won "honors," but since, returned to Fla. and not seen the latest additions to my "side-business" Vintage Limousine Service, Inc.
2009(update) After all these years, I find that the VietNam service did infact expose me to "agent-orange," and now find that I am a member of a growing population of Veterans, finding their physical maladies, to be 'combat-oriented' and entitled to full Veteran medical benefits. Adding the stress of operating heavy equipment, I became phycically disabled in Nov,06, and can only move around with great discomfort. I had no idea what my father had cautioned me, "Son, keep your health, when it's gone, you go with it." The countries financial mess has been creeping up on me, but I still have the limos, and my home. Added a wife, in 2005, wish I had met this one first. She is a Marine, and we both have Vet-benefits. My heart soars, when she smiles at me.... XOXOXO
