William Fullington:
CLASS OF 1951
Chattanooga High SchoolClass of 1951

William's Story
After graduation from City High, I entered the U. S. Navy in 1952 and
got out in 1956 as a Petty Officer
2nd Class. I enrolled at the University of Chattanooga and graduated in 1961. I went into the
Life Insurance business at Volunteer
State Life as an Underwriter (not sales) and worked for various companies
in Atlanta, Memphis, St. Louis, Detroit, and Philadelphia and
retired (first time) as Vice President
in 1994. Moved back to Chattanooga for
two months and received an offer from
a company in Nashville, which I couldn't refuse. Retired a second time
in 2002 and moved to Benton, KY.
My sweet wife (Maryde)of 48 years said I could not sit around watching T.V. and eating snacks so I had to go to work again, this time in the ...Expand for more
banking business. Each day I visit the branches in Ky and Tenn. It is more fun than any other work I have done.
I'm really looking forward to the 60th
reunion in 2011. We had a very good time at the 57th get-together in 2008
even though the crowd was limited in
size, and so many of the class couldn't
make it.
We have four children, three girls and a boy, living in Pennsylvania,
Virginia, Indiana, and Tennessee. A bunch of grandchildren and a couple of
great grandchildren.
I did win two company golf tournaments
years ago, but I'm not going to tell
the scores because the competition was
not very good and a grammar school kid
could have out scored me.
Good luck to any of you who are reading
this and I hope to see you in 2011.
