William's Story

Life My biggest accomplishment was creating and then raising two beautiful children to adulthood. My Daughter Aimee is now 35 years old, graduated from Livingston High School where she was student body president and valedictorian. Whe went on to graduate from Texas A&M, as a math major. She worked several years as a software trainer and developer. She is currently a math teacher at Coldspring Jr. High School. My son Bill is now 34 years old, garduated from Livingston High School where he was in the top ten in his class, all district linebacker on the football team and an accomplished artist that designed a murral of their team mascot (a lion) that is still displayed on their gymnasium wall. He went on to graduate from the Art Institute of Houston. He has worked for Lazer media where he created lazer light shows for Disney Land, Disney World and a couple of episodes of Star Trec the next generation. He has had various jobs and adventures that most starving artist have such as construction worker, electrician, comercial fisherman (in Alaska), Bartender (was named in the top 10 Bartenders in Houston), has backpacked across Europe, ran with the Bulls in Pamploma, surfed off of Hawaii and Mexican coasts, scuba dived in the Bahama's, Kaymen islands, and off the coasts of Mexico. He currently works as an MWD (measurements while drilling) for oil compani...Expand for more
es. As for me I have changed physically with age as has everyone but I am currently trying to stay in shape by going to aerobics classes and dancing with the girls (I am the only male in my class) I would say my personality is still pretty much the same, just tempered with age. The most complete surprise in my life is ending up as the Water Superintendent/Public Works Director/Plumbing Inspector of the City of Livingston Texas. Livingston is a charming little city of 5,834 people and when you work there they hang as many hats on you as they can. I have worked there for a little over 26 years and plan on retiring in March of 2007. I have recently been certified to teach adult education classes and plan on teaching water and waste water courses part time when I retire. The luckiest thing I have ever done was to mary Connie (Heilman) we have been married for 37 years and she is my rock. Connie recently stepped away from 25 year nursing career, where she worked her way up from floor nurse,to case manager. Along the way she was a scrub nurse in the ER, Emergency room nurse, head admittance nurse, utilization review nurse and discharge planning nurse. She currently works as a district superviser for Chartwell Homecare. Overall I feel like I've had a great ride but I am still a hopeless romantic and love to reminisce of days gone past.
