William's Story
Life
As you can see from the school and work history, I have been a lot of places and seen a lot of things. Since high school, I joined the Army, then the NY Army National Guard. I then moved south and became a manager for a trucking company. I then went back to college to finish my degree and then became a manager in the Wal-Mart organization. After 4 stores, I decided to take my management experience into the booming residential construction. At the same time I started up a business doing Home Inspections. I traveled from company to company doing the construction management. I recently moved a little further south and went to work for a commercial / industrial contractor for the Marine Corps. Here the work is more steady and I am now a project manager and the safety officer. I am going to be pushing full steam to grow my personal business, so that I can retire in a few years.
School
School was interesting. I look back on this time period and realize that these experiences helped to form who I am today. I never really had a stable school life. I went to two elementary, middle, and high schools. At first, it was Marbletown and Rosendale Elementary Schools. Then, as I got older, I attended Roundout Middle in NY and Clearlake Middle in FL. I stayed in FL for the beginning of high school where I attended Cocoa High then moved to NY where I graduated from New Paltz High.
I had pretty good memories from that time period. I enjoyed being with my friends and working on stuff. I did some dumb things, and learned from them.
If you could go back in time and change some things in your life, would you? Of course. But, I cherish the remembrances that I have.
College
Not unlike my school days, my college times were filled with movement and instability. I started my higher education while in the Army. I took courses with several universities during my active duty military time. After leaving the military, I pursued my studies more earnestly. I attended a local technical college and earned an AA and then an AS. I transferred to a 4 year college and graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.

Workplace
Work bio - wow, where to start? I guess it started in middle school in FL. I worked for a bicycle shop and video game arcade owner. I assembled bicycles for a little cash and game tokens. When I moved to NY, I started to work for an entrepreneur. I demolished portions of buildings, renovated them, and other miscellaneous work. After high school I joined the Army. I spent 4 years on active duty then moved back to NY and joined the NY Army National Guard. I also worked for myself as an independent contractor doing miscellaneous household repairs and snow plowing. On one of the outings with the Guard I met a restraunt manager with Burger King. I started working with them full time as a manager and I liked it. By this time I was married. My sister-in-law decided to move to SC with her grandmother, so I helped her. Grandma changed her mind about living in there, and left my sister-in-law with the burden of full rent. She called me up and asked if we could move down there and help her with the rent. We did. I applied to a trucking company for a job as a truck driver and they hired me as a manager. I worked for them for 2 1/2 years in that occupation then went back to college full time. During the college years, I worked for the same company as a part-time driver (driving full time hours, but no benifits). It was great, because it gave me a chance to study during loading/unloading times and to not go to work if I didn't want to. I went to work for Wal-Mart after graduating. I was a manager that they used to correct stores that weren't performing very well. Four stores later, I decided to get into the residential construction industry. I worked as a manager for several companies and did well in them. I similtaneously started a home inspection business and created a little extra cash flow from that. Most recently, I moved further south and went to work for a MACC contractor on the Marine Corps Bases as a project manager/estimator and safety officer. The future is looking good. The owner of this company would like me to become a partial owner with two other project managers. The owner would like to retire in a couple of years.
