William's Story
I finally retired from the U.S. Army. Everyone used to tell me the only way I would leave is if they kicked me out. Well they did not kick me out but they did show me the gate after 31 years in 2005. It was a good 31 years got to see the world and meet a lot of good people. And by the way drank a few beers and had fun. The best part of my career was the people I met.

I got married in 2008. I married a great Special Ed teacher I figured this is what I needed. Trying to settle down in one place is hard to adjust to. Luckily for the job I do travel a bit. Another retirement perk I got a boat and live next to a deep water creek that has me in the ocean in about 30 minutes. So far life is good. At times I miss the uniform.
Having a hard time settling down. I am on my third trip to Afghanistan. Probably my last trip but then I said that two times before.
