William's Story
Lincoln, Brooklyn College, A year at Leeds in England, Fordham Law School, Md & divorced, NY Bar, Md again, moved to Athens, GA for wife's grad school, passed GA bar, moved to Fargo, ND for wife's job, passed ND and Minnesota bars, worked for lawyer and then out in solo practice, divorced, and started attending NA and AA, and then married again, and still married to lovely Laurie, whom I love very much, had a daughter,Becki, when I met her and we had a daughter, Beryl, and worked together until in 2001 when we moved to Las Cruces, New Mexico and then Albuquerque, and then back to Fargo in April, 2005 and resumed practice and working together. Becki is married and we have two wonderful grandchildren and a good son-in-law and they live outside Minneapolis, so we go there often and enjoy the "MinnyApple." Beryl works with us, and is living with her fiance, so I'm sure Laurie and her will be planning a wedding soon. The mishpoceh are real nice folks and we have fund with them as well.
We recently bought a place in Naples Florida and hope to retire there in a few years. We need to get away from ND winters, although the summers here are wonderful, with the sunset sometimes after 9:30 p.m., and I love to garden and be outside and this is a great place with virtually no pollution, and very friendly people and a very low crime rate. Makes life as a criminal defense lawyer a little harder, but small town atmosphere and general geniality of...Expand for more
people is a nice change from big city life, and we do have some neat cultural stuff and easy acces to the Minneapolis area and to Winnipeg, Canada, a wonderful place to go during the summer. Their folk festival is the largest in North America, and the Folklorama is Canada's #1 tourist attraction, and well worth seeing, although it has gotten a lot more crowded in recent years.
Work web site is your guessand I invite you to look at it to know a little about my work life and history. I have enjoyed being a lawyer, although some of it has been real tough. I have many fond memories of Lincoln and friends in Brighton that I made after we moved there. My mom's still in Luna Park and I go back and see the real change in the area, but still see some familiar stuff and it's fun to reminisce about time spent there. Cousin was Ira Gold, who passed away in 1990, and is sorely missed.
Love AA, music, movies and reading and visiting with friends, and have had a terrific life with great experiences wherever I've been. Would love to hear from old friends, and I skype and windows live messenger, so we can even talk and see each other.
As I'm getting older my hearing, and memory are slowly deteriorating, so finding it hard to remember some folks from High school, and I don't have my old yearbook, which I would love to have. So if somebody has an extra one, or knows how to get one, I'd love to get one.
Wondering what all you folks are doing now?
