d career change came in 2001 when we both quit our Engineering jobs and bought a postal center ( like Mail Box Etc. ) in Port Hueneme, CA which turned out to be THE busiest postal center in Southern California not just in Ventura County like I was told. We had 3 people that wanted to buy our little busy business so we sold it to the highest bidder in less than 2 yrs and still made a profit to where I’m semi retired now. I’m working as an Engineering Design Consultant for the same engine test equipment company that I worked at for 6 yrs. But this is short term only because I was born on the East Coast, raised on the West Coast and now I’ll be retiring on the Texas Gulf of Mexico. I still enjoy surfing so I can’t live to far from a wave producing body of water. I’ll be spending my free time surfing, playing tennis and working on my model cars. I can truly say that I never expected to be retired at the age of 55.
