William's Story
Life
I left Westlake and attended SUNY Maritime College not at all sure what I wantyed to do with my life. After graduating their with a BS in Marine Transport Management, I went to sea, and in the process, managed to explore 37 countries. Several times I would disembark a ship somewhere overseas and make my way on rail tours around western Europe and the Mediterranea. Of those times, I most enjoyed once getting off a ship and spending 4 months wandering around slowly through Spain and Portugal. It was at the time exactly what I needed. Very much a life of solitude and reflection, and I got exposed to so much I had never seen in NY. After shipping I went from job to job for quite a while, selling life insurance, then driving limousines, tending bar, installing roofing and vinyl siding...a whole bunch of things I didn't really want to do. Problem was, I had no idea what I did want to do. Then I moved south, and I met my beautiful wife, and this is where I am going to spend the rest of my life on this earth.
That's all for now. Life is full and I wil promise to try at some point to finish this and the other sections off, but if not, I wish all well. Take care. Bill

uld have. I was too worried about getting into college even though I didn't have a clue until senior year about what I might want to do with my life. I had crushes like everyone did, but I was always way too shy to act on them. I enjoyed being on the football team, even though I rarely played, because for a while it felt like I could "fit in" with the "jocks". Believe it or not, my favorite teacher was Bill Metzler (Physics). I respected that he actually knew the subject he taught and could explain some pretty complex ideas to teenagers without coming off as condescending. My biggest crush was on another teacher actually. Boy was I head over heels for Debbie Finkel for a year! She was 21 and she taught Spanish...remember her anyone? When I left for SUNY Maritime College I never looked back really. Haven't been to any reunions, and don't see them in my future. So much of my life is centered around my wife and two daughters now, and hitting this website was just one of those acts of random curiosity we all have about our pasts, I guess.
I wouldn't mind trading e-mails with anyone who remembers me and is interested. Take care of yourselves and remember that family is everything...even if you don't think so....trust me....it is!
