William's Story
Life after Killian began in Tallahassee at Florida State University. While at FSU, I continued extra-curricular musical activities as an arranger, composer, and conductor. In 1973, I returned to Miami as the Director of Bands at Palmetto Senior High. This began a 17-year career of teaching and professional conducting in Florida, Texas, and Ohio.
I left the podium in 1987 to work at The Ohio State University Center for Teaching Excellence. During the Ohio Years, I took part in the former USSR'ÂÂs Glastnos in Action Initiative as an Artist-In-...Expand for more
Residence.
In the early 1990s, I went to The University of Kansas as a Holmes Scholar, where I received another degree, taught conducting and psychoacoustics, and learned how to write very long sentences.
I joined the UM-St. Louis faculty and the St. Louis Symphony's Desmond Lee Collaborative in the late 1990s as a conductor, In 2005, I returned Florida and continued focus on psycho-acoustic and vibro-therapeutic research. This focus is in support of traditional treatments to reduce pain and prescription dosages for common age-related conditions.
