Jimmy Reed songs,badly.Got my first electric in '64, an Ibanez with an oaktree neck.
Took some lessons from a guy named Jack Nissim....got a Gibson 335 in '65. played parties and high school dances.
Had my first paying gig as a solo at Coffee and Confusion in North Beach, SF, when I was still17 in'68. Graduated in"68,got kicked out of the house and joined a band in Sonoma County,Father Grumble w/ Bill Eckhart, Pat Flynn and Mack Brown. We played around for awhile.College dances, Inn of the Beginning,Mendocino St. Hospital,etc.
I then had a sort of power trio, Truck, with Mack Brown and Mike Woodward. We played mostly in the great Northwest, based out of Seattle. That outlived it's usefulness in August of '69.

Then I began to play as a solo, hitchhiking to gigs from sonoma county to L.A. finally winding up around the Half Moon Bay area mainly headquartering out of a big ol' house in Montera and playing a lot at the Shelter Inn with guys like Ty Porter and Pat Simmons and Mike Mindel. I met my first wife Robyn there. I also began to discover the wonders of alcohol there which is a whoile other chapter.".
