st, left thigh) in Vietnam as a 20 yr old rifle platoon and weapons platoon leader, Second Lieutenant. Left the army as Captain of Infantry, 1970. Attended U of S AL and U of W FL, left in senior year to accept a job as managing editor of the Gulf Coast Business Journal. Wrote a local history book while working as County Historian at Ritchie County Public Library (WV) under a grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities 1978-80. In 1991 I was awarded 100% service-connected disability for my combat wounds and PTSD, and reissued my military ID with post privileges, etc, and compensation at the 100% + rate. I'm retired now and enjoy an active life at our new home (moved here April '14) in Colorado Springs, CO.".
