William's Story
"Once I was young and stupid, now I'm old & stupid!" :)
(hopefully, less stupid...but sometimes I wonder!)
It is hard to believe that so many years have passed by...it seems like only yesterday that we had such a carefree life in our youth...
God has given me an interesting life. I've seen/traveled a lot (all 50 states and many countries) and had a lot of life experiences. Unfortunately, my only son died (9/11/00...adopted....Korean) and my wife left me less than 1 year later (and then filed for divorce). Although I sorely miss my son, I spiritually rejoice because I know he is in Heaven and I will see him again. God certainly got my attention when He called my son "home" to Heaven. I try to be a good follower of Jesus Christ. Solely by the Grace of God, I know that I am going to Heaven. It is certainly not because of my "good works" or anything that I have done. I definitely don't "deserve" to go to Heaven nor have I "earned" the right to go to Heaven; it is solely through the death and sacrifice of Jesus Christ that my (and your) sins are forgiven. Those of ...Expand for more
you that knew me back in the "old days" know that I wasn't "sinless." Thanks to God, I am forgiven.
Although I am well educated (B.S. in '73-Villanova U, MBA-Temple U ((never finished)) '77-'80, I learned the most from the "school of life" (I probably have several Phd's). Fortunately, I have been a self-employed real estate & business Investor/Owner/Manager ever since I got out of the Navy ('73-'77...served all 4 years on ships...honorably discharged as Lieutenant).
I currently live with my dog (she's great....a Certified Therapy Dog...we visit nursing homes & hospitals) in NC (Asheville) and NJ (Ocean Grove....Jersey Shore near NYC)
As a Bible-believing Christian, I do not belong to any particular denomination. I have voluntarily served in several churches as an Deacon, Elder and Trustee, but have grown tired of the politics, "turf battles" and "power plays."
If you have read this far, I Thank You! In summary, I have learned that your relationship with God is (by far), your most important relationship. Material stuff is nice but "you can't take it with you!"
