William's Story

Life Retired from Navy in '84 and worked mostly in retail ever since. Finally retired for good last month (Mar '06) Now live in Mocksville, NC and do retired things. Garden, woodwork, etc. Still married to Lee after 42 years, two childeren, one teaches here and another is an Architect in Raleigh. One greandson. Oak, Lilly and Ivy you will find my ambition to be a great Navy career; I was not turning back! I served 23 years on active duty, mostly in submarines. During that time I met and married my wife of 46 years, LE ILA, had two wonderful kids, completed a BA in Adult Ed from Southern Illinois Univiesity, Had a second career in retail with Lowe's Home Improvement Store and am now retired in NC and enjoying my three grandkids.

Behind the remnants of this oak tree is 104 Cedar Court, Ladson, SC. We built this home in 1975 and sold it in 1979 when we moved to Scotland. Some of the roof is penetrated in the front but no other "major" damages. There
A long, long time ago; in a far away place!
For our first Christmas Lee and I bought a $1 plastic star from the Navy Exchange at the San Francisco Naval Shipyard. It is now on its 53rd Christmas tree. Still in tact and with the same bulb!!
On November 4, Team BB will join the JDRF walk at BB and T field, Winston Salem. My Grandson, BB (Braeden) is 8 and was diagnosed with T1D this Summer. JDRF is focused on preventing and curing this life limiting disease. Th
