William's Story
I graduated in 1960, although it was probably an error. I did undergraduate work at USD, and than started graduate studies at San Diego State. By this time I had become a professional student. I was working for the Parks and Rec, City of San Diego. A friend from USD recommended I apply for a Federal Government position with the Internal Revenue Service.
T took the FSEE and passed. The IRS in Los Angeles offered me a position in Hollywood, and I took it.
The initial three years were uneventful. By my third year I was promoted to a management position in San Diego. ad vowed to retire before I was 55 years, thus I returned to field work to hoe up on my work skills. I taught field and management classes thru out the United States, and retired with thirty years. I continued to work and an enrolled agent.
My wife and I liked to travel. We had been thru out Europe, the South Pacific, Central and South America and the US, and bought an RV to travel. One of these spots was in the mountains of Northern Arizona. We fell in love with the place, and bought a home there.
We still travel and are currently looking for another RV. I restored an Alfa Romeo Spyder, and use it to drive around the mountains. My wife, Cheryl, still works with the Airline industry, and will probably retire in the next two years. Then we will travel more extensively.
