At West Side Junior High School in Little Rock, I was in the Bear Kat Marching Band and was Editor of the West Side Life newspaper in 1944-45.
In May of 1945 my father got transferred to Dallas. I was looking forward to going to LRHS and "getting dunked in the swimming pool as all sophs did"/ At least they told me that.
I enrolled in Highland Park High School and to my surprise the Little Rock High School Band came to a Band Convention at Highland Park High School. I got to see a lot of my former band friends.

y.
I went to Rice University on a NROTC scholarship and during our mandatory summer cruises, I ran into several people from Highland Park and from LRHS and renewed old times.
I have six children and 14 grandchildren. Stayed in Dallas all of these years since leaving Little Rock in 1945. I was in the electronics business, Research and Development, travelled to 30 countries, and retired as President of The Andrew Corporation, a large radio/microwave/satellite supplier.
I am living in McKinney, Texas now. Active with municipal and church volunteering, golf, and geneology on the Internet.
Happy to run into old school friends.
