Wilma's Story
After high school, on June 23, 1967 Jim Stoops & I got married so it will be 50 years for us next year! We are still high school sweethearts--he is my best friend, soul mate & totally awesome! We are a close family with 3 kids & 6 grandchildren aged 19 down to 4. We still live in the area in Canton in a home we love built in 1898. I retired 1-15-15 after working 31 years in the SICU (surgical intensive care unit) at St. Joe hospital in Ann Arbor--I miss the peeps I worked with ...Expand for more
(although they still keep in touch pretty good) & sometimes I miss the adrenaline rush taking care of the bad traumas, open heart patients, sick septic patients, closed head injuries, etc but after working in the unit so long, it was time to hang it up & spend time with Jim. He retired several years ago from Fords after 32 years, started his own delivery service & then has been totally retired about 5 years. We hope to get back into camping & just enjoying this "no routine" life!
