Windle's Story
Looking back at the period in time inwhich I grew up. Reflecting on friendships, heart throbs, and athletics I miss it. Back then I was different from the others, I had my click of friends, but I also did it my way.
Today, I still do it my way and I'm getting paid alot to do it. I never thought any of that stuff they were teaching us would ever come in handy, I was wrong.
I have been an executive chef for 20 years. During that time I have owned and operated 3 restaurants and a catering business, travel to 43 countries, post military. I have done some modeling, early in my youth, acting, and coaching. I have served my country, honored our school, and fought for those who could not fight back. I coached for 12 years (when you are the boss, you learn to give back to the community)running backs, track and field, girls volleyball, freshmen boys and girls basketball (11 undefeated seasons) and archery.
Through catering I have met the rich and famous and should be shameless. My file are confidential because of the clientel, but you would be impressed.
I teach and practice Chinese martial arts, play basketball still, I golf, alot...and I still do wind sprints. I am 6'2 1/2" 27...Expand for more
5 lbs.
I come to realized that 80% of what I know I learn while growing up in Baldwin.
Mr. Claude Simmons thanks to his health class in 7th grade I don't drink or smoke or do drugs...ever.
Mr. Fouraker thought us early about the brutal world in "Americanism v Communism", I served our country with pride. Because some has to guard that wall so the rest can sleep.
Mr. Allen thought it was necessary for us to know how to spell and write. In his class I got A's in spelling and vocabulary. I barely passed grammar. So imagine my surprise that my first college English course I "Aced". Some how I was listening.
Mr Fred Smith, Ron Smith, and Ms. Samply taught me that it was okay to be a jock and love music.
Mr. Milton Cooper taught me to love football and hurting people was okay on the field. Coach Dykes, Fouraker and Clark enforced leadership skills that have paved the way for me as an adult.
To all my teachers elementary, and high school I thank you. To those I passed in the halls, shed blood with on the fields of battle, and sports. Thank you for sharing that part of your life with me.
Mr. Fouraker always said, "if I can reach one student, I did my job". He did his job.
