Winnie's Story
After high school I moved up to Orange County to work for my Uncle in the Balboa Island Jolly Roger. I married at age 22 and moved to Boston MA for 7 years with my 1st husband. We had 2 children and moved back to CA after which we divorced 6 years later. I married my 2nd husband, Bruce Meyers, in 1986, who designed the 1st fiberglass dune buggy back in 1964. tarted Meyers Manx Inc. in 1999, and then formed the Manx Club which is now over 6,000 members Internationally. We sold the business in 2020 and Bruce passed away in 2021. I am still on the Board of Directors of the Manx Club and continue to authenticate real Meyers Manx buggies (as opposed to the many copies) for the new company. I travel to Manx Club events here in the US representing its legendary beginnings.
