Still live in good ol' Rhode Island and have discovered that R.I. has much to be proud of ...........Roger Williams was responsible for our First Amendment in the Constitution , Freedom of speech, Freedom of religion and Freedom of public assembly. Both Thomas Jefferson and John Adams acknowledged this fact publicly.........

The Greenwood Elementary School had it's 100 year celebration on Sat. , May, 14,2011. Malcom Ryberg , Evelyn Howard, Billy Chatto, George Maden , Maureen and Kevin Byrne , Lois Keates, to name only a few, were there to see all the displays and get a tour of the school. What a wonderful experience , it was like time stood still. The school looks so much the way we all remembered it, except for the new additions, added later. Built in 19...Expand for more
11, it was a 2 room wooden structure. Later , in 1938 , it became the handsome brick school we see today.
Greenwood School will always be a very special place.
In my graduating class of 1956 , 6th grade , so many have passed away, seems so sad , and so young .

So many wonderful memories of each one of them .

In 2001, I became a Daughter of the American Revolution. Seven generations back on my mothers side of the family was a counter spy from Middletown R.I. Now the history I always hated in school, became very exciting and interesting for the first time. Actually we were never told much about our little state. It was mostly MA that got all the credit.
