Woody's Story

After High School, I went to school at North Eastern State College for a semester, quit school and worked, got drafted in the "late great 1968", and spent my time in exotic foreign locations. ut moved into a more advanced area in about three years. In 1985 I moved into the Weapon System Program Office that managed the then new B-1 Bomber. I worked in that area until I retired from Government service in 2006. During my time in the office environment, I met many interesting people and traveled extensively. I loved working with the weapon system, the people (with a few exceptions), and the programs that I managed. I found new challenges each day, and loved it all. This work was something I hated to leave when I retired. After retirement, I went to work for a company in California for 1 & 1/2 years as their Director of Program Development. I enjoyed the work and the people, but it was long distance work. Finally I quit it. Resently I went back to work for another company, and guess what? I'm working on another bomber aircraft. Oh well, Life is a cycle!
