Xavier's Story
Life
The name Xavier Kowalski probably doesn't look familiar to you. My legal name is Francis Xavier Kowalski III. Until I graduated from high school, I was best known as Trip Kowalski. I never liked that name. In college, I tried going by a different name in every class. Frank and Francis didn't really work for me either. I tried Bill in one class, but of course that made no sense whatsoever. I eventually came to like my middle name, Xavier, and decided to stick with that full time when I came to law school.
College

d from UF in 2003 and then went to law school at the University of Virginia where I will graduate in May. UVA Law has been wonderful experience. I'm going to miss it.
Workplace
After taking the New York bar in July, I'll start work at an NYC law firm called Simpson Thacher. I'll be joining the corporate department where I will practice in either the capital markets group or the mergers and acquisitions group. The firm does some very exciting work, and I'm really looking forward to it. I was at the firm last summer and loved it.
