Yolanda's Story

My life after Mater Dei has been pretty full. I married and moved to Spreckels, CA after getting a B.A. in Art (black and white photography) and got a new perspective of Orange County. Traveling to Europe in 1971 for a couple of months also gave me a new perspective. This past spring I traveled to China with a Sierra Club group. That was fun, lots of walking. New perspective on the U.S. and our way of life. The other main adventure, besides marriage, is having children: I have a son and daughter and two grandchildren. Today, I am not married. I am learning the accordian, slowly. I love the happy music. But Mater Dei conti...Expand for more
nues to have an impact on me. Sister Michelle, Sister Angelica, both encouraged me in directions I am still moving towards. My children attended MDHS so I have seen the campus change. Son graduated from Chapman University. Daughter is now attending Loyola Marymount. They are wonderful people. I love to spend time with the grandchildren. I go to Holy Family Cathedral and St. Norbert and if it is late on a Sunday, I attend the Vietnamese Mass at St. Columban which I love. The singing is very moving and if I cannot go to Vietnam for a visit, I can visit the people here. I look forward to our reunion and hope you all come, too.
